Have you ever wondered why natural medicine and traditional healing are sometimes met with scepticism?
I’m Teagan, a holistic practitioner and registered traditional healer here in South Africa, and this is a topic I’m incredibly passionate about.
For generations, communities around the world have relied on medicinal plants and traditional remedies to support their wellbeing. Yet today, many people remain unfamiliar with the plants around them and the knowledge passed down through generations.
I believe it’s time to start having more open conversations about herbal medicine, explore the connection between traditional knowledge and modern science, and approach natural healing with curiosity rather than judgement.
Why Does This Matter?
Plants have played an important role in human health throughout history, and their compounds have contributed to the development of modern medicines. However, understanding herbal medicine also means recognising the importance of research, responsible use and safety.
My goal is to help make traditional plant knowledge more accessible, encourage people to ask questions, and inspire a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
Welcome to Natural Charm
Through Natural Charm, I’ll be sharing weekly content exploring medicinal herbs, traditional remedies and holistic approaches to wellbeing. Together, we’ll discover how different plants have been used throughout history, explore what we know about them today, and learn why responsible herbal education matters.
I’d love for you to be part of this journey as we reconnect with nature, share knowledge and continue learning together.
